About Working With CSS
Two things. First, I've actually done this work—not just advised on it. The 60% ramp-up reduction came from a training system I built and ran myself. Second, I guarantee results. We agree on metrics before starting, and I keep working until we hit them.
Most of my clients have that story. It's why I structured CSS the way I did: clear deliverables, transparent pricing, guaranteed results. You'll know what you're getting before you commit, and you'll see progress every week.
If you're a trades business with 5-50 employees and $500K-$10M revenue, you're exactly who this is built for. Too small for the big consulting firms, too important to settle for generic advice.
HVAC, plumbing, electrical, construction, manufacturing—trades businesses where operations complexity is real and owners are stretched thin.
About the Process
Typically within 1-2 weeks of our first conversation, depending on current commitments.
Operations Audit: 4-6 hours over 2 weeks. Lean Implementation: 4-8 hours per week for 12 weeks. Growth Partnership: 4-8 hours per week ongoing. The investment of time is real, but it's building something that saves time permanently.
Operations Audit and Lean Implementation include significant on-site time—that's where the real work happens. Growth Partnership balances on-site sessions with remote advisory.
Your team owns the systems. For Lean Implementation, we do a 60-day check-in to ensure everything's running smoothly. Many clients continue with Growth Partnership for ongoing support, but it's not required—the goal is your independence.
About Pricing
Monthly billing keeps both of us accountable. You see progress month by month. If something isn't working, we catch it early. It also makes the investment more manageable for cash flow.
It can be. The Audit gives you clarity before committing to a larger engagement. But if you already know you need comprehensive system building, you can start directly with Lean Implementation—the diagnostic is built into the first two weeks.
Start with Operations Audit. You'll get clarity on what's broken, a prioritized roadmap, and actionable quick wins. Many clients do the Audit, implement some changes themselves, and come back for Lean Implementation when they're ready.
About Results
We agree on specific, measurable metrics before starting—like "reduce new hire ramp-up time from X to Y" or "decrease customer complaints by Z%." If we don't hit them by the end of the engagement, I keep working until we do. No additional charge.
We'll know early. Progress is visible week by week through regular check-ins and metrics tracking. If something's not right, we adjust immediately. I'm not interested in taking money for work that isn't delivering.
I can guarantee we'll hit the metrics we agree on. ROI depends on your business—but consider: if we cut ramp-up time by 60%, what's that worth in reduced turnover, faster productivity, and freed-up owner time? For most businesses, the math is clear.
